Museum Exhibits
Dakota Audio products are installed in 75% of all museums in the US.
Providing an audio solution for a museum is fraught with challenges. Many times the spaces are open with little or no acoustic isolation between exhibits. There are usually multiple sound sources in close proximity, and with aesthetic and budget constraints, the exhibit design may be limited or may dictate the placement of the sound source. Add to that, the desire to control the audio or eliminate audio spill and it is enough to make a museum director's head spin.
Fortunately, providing solutions in this type of environment is what we specialize in. Dakota Audio directional audio arrays are employed in more museum exhibits than any other focused sound solution. A big reason for that is the unobtrusive design of the arrays. They are not meant to be seen and many times we can't find them even when we know they are there! The next advantage they provide is the configuration of the arrays: adjusting how tight the focus of sound is, how far the sound travels and what type of sound is reproduced is all user configurable, in the field, via an onboard control panel.
Finally, the last and most important aspect to choosing a Dakota Audio array is sound quality. Again and again we are told that even if the arrays were not directional, the enclosure design and the sound quality are such that they easily fit into even the most demanding environments. The directionality just makes the decision to go with Dakota Audio a 'no brainer.'
Visitor Attractions
There are few places where your choice of audio hardware has a more immediate response than at visitor attractions. We have a selection of products that can deliver full range audio to exactly where you need it, without disturbing people outside the target area. AudioSpotlight is particularly useful in adding audio to a tight area, and it's ability to bounce off walls whilst retaining it's audio characteristics means that creative placement can really enhance every exhibit.
Adding a clear audio track to the exhibits can really bring them alive, or can be used to give information to people in queues waiting for rides. The list is endless.
